My biggest fear became my biggest strength. Growing up I was always searching for something new to learn about. If you asked me what I wanted to be when I got older my answer would range from interior designer, novelist, video game designer, or zoologist. My notebooks were filled with various story ideas, to-do lists, and elementary business outlines.When the time came to make big decisions about my future like what to study in college or what career path to take, I found myself paralyzed by my varied interests - fearing I would not reach my potential because I couldn’t decide which way to go. I ultimately chose to pursue a business degree as I knew I needed a business acumen to succeed in my professional life. Since making that decision - I started my career, got a job in sales for a product I truly believed in, discovered my love for marketing, reconnected with my passion for design, faced a pandemic, and now work in a position that allows me to leverage my creative and analytical sides each day.I realized once I started working that my inquisitive nature allowed me to learn on my feet and be multi-skilled across diverse paradigms. In every position I’ve worked, I could take any project on by learning, adapting, and forging a way forward. If I didn’t know how to do something, I’d seek out the information and make it happen. It is my greatest strength.In my free time, I act as a social media influencer manager for my partner. This was a project that first took root during the pandemic. Both myself and my partner were laid off and had more time on our hands than ever. He started posting short-form comedy content and his social media accounts skyrocketed. I offered to be his manager since my background is in business and though they say not to work with your significant other - it has been a passion project that has only brought us closer. Plus, it’s a pretty cool hobby.
