I am a highly skilled communications professional who approaches any challenge as an opportunity. Quick to adapt to any task at hand, I thrive in a collaborative environment that allows for independent creativity and initiative in order to achieve organizational or issue-based goals. I have consistently been recognized by my peers for my strong work ethic, analytical skills and solution-driven attitude. Currently, I am Director of Strategic & Business Communications at Sutherland, a full service public affairs, government relations and strategic communications firm that uses strategic planning and engagement in order to help clients achieve their goals. In my role, I lead a team to provide clients with strategic communications planning and implementation, social media strategy development and oversight, stakeholder outreach, issues management, media relations, events management and more. I also work directly with strategic partners through The Hub @ Sutherland to develop creative marketing solutions to support our clients' needs. Prior to my time at Sutherland, I completed the Corporate Communications Postgraduate Diploma program at Seneca College. This enabled me to establish a strong skill set in the field of communications and public relations. I also obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Queen's University with a major in Political Studies. It's here that I developed a keen interest in international politics and travel, both of which have lent themselves considerably to my critical thinking and detail-oriented approach to communications. Personally, I have a passion for travel (experiences), reading (knowledge) and events (making plans come to fruition).
