As a TEACH analyst, I have had the opportunity to rotate within the GPS sector to several different roles that have each taught me different aspects of the business. My first rotation was in Contracts, where I reviewed contracts, identifying pertinent information including funding, period of performance, the contract type, POCs, etc. I collaborated with engagement teams to ensure all contracts were up to date with key information regarding the project. My next rotation was in EFA (Engagement Financial Advisors) where I was responsible for financially monitoring 10 engagements alongside the Engagement Managers and PPMDs. I helped to forecast practitioner hours to ensure profitability of the project as well as watched over labor category compliance. Along with that, I worked with the Accounts Receivable team to make sure all invoices were sent out according to the billing schedule and that all payments were received from the client. The rotation I am currently in is Business Systems. I am involved with both the Tableau/dashboarding side as well as the project management side. Within the dashboarding side, I have developed several dashboards for internal clients that present their data visually to help aid in data analysis. On the project management side, I am assisting the implementation of a new program that will help individuals within Deloitte sort and identify opportunities easier. Within this program, I have also had the opportunity to be involved outside of my current rotation by working on Operational Excellence initiatives as well as volunteer initiatives, such as the Halycon Incubator.

As a rooms intern at the Grand Hyatt Washington, I was able to participate as a front desk agent as well as in the housekeeping department as a housekeeping manager. From working at the front desk, I gained valuable experience working with guests and dealing with several different forms of payment. In addition, I went above and beyond to guarantee that each customer had a unique experience and left the establishment completely satisfied. I learned how to sympathize with the guests and truly care for them so that they felt comfortable and important. As a housekeeping manager, I assisted the other managers in performing the daily operations of cleaning a 1000 room hotel. Making sure each housekeeper had the materials needed and that their voice was being heard was my biggest priority in this position. I learned how to manage nearly 100 housekeepers by respecting their work ethic and honoring them for their dedication and commitment to the hotel.

As a sales intern, I work with the sales managers to help bring business to The Penn Stater. This hotel is able to accommodate large conferences of thousands of people, many smaller social events, and as well as many events for the university staff such as tailgates, luncheons, and meetings. I have gained experience meeting with the customers one on one and through email to learn about the kind of space they need at the hotel, and then later putting their booking into the system called Delphi. Along with booking meeting space, we also book guest rooms, working with the program IDEAS to learn about the BAR and availability using the system Opera.

As a DRA, I help set up the buffets that set out for each meal period, as well as taken down after all the customers have eaten. Additionally, I take room service orders to hotel guests and satisfy their needs. I also answer questions from guests who have dietary restrictions/ any other questions about the restaurant.

As a hostess, I plan out the table plotting in the beginning of the day, careful placing each reservation in a way that prevents overlapping. Additionally, I answer the phones to take reservations for future dates and take room service orders from hotel guests, answering questions and providing cheerful service.

As a supervisor, I was responsible for the daily operations of the business when the manager was not there. I was in charge of two other employees and helped them with any questions they had, while simultaneously making sure that everything ran smoothly. Additionally, I answered questions from customers, prepared the topping bar, checked out guests at the cash register, and kept the store clean and tidy.

With this position, I was able to work with kids and teach them the art of dance. By showing them how to express themselves, I taught the children how to gain confidence and appreciate their uniqueness. They were able to have fun while also getting in a workout.
