About Emma Bettle

I'm the co-founder of School Kit - a New Zealand based education company that offers beautiful resource kits and powerful learning experiences to teachers and their students. I'm passionate about the power of education in changing lives, using good design to convey complex ideas (to small humans) and the importance of being curious about and connecting with others. My core strength is my ability to contribute to strategy at a macro level while conceiving of how to achieve consistent implementation at a micro one. I love using data, process design and technology to help people do things better, faster and more consistently. I like making difficult, complex subject matter less confronting and easier to understand. My way of working has always centred on establishing connections and having conversations with individuals and their communities. As a result, story sovereignty is always evident in any School Kit project. I'm passionate about New Zealand histories, art and literature. I believe every NZ child should have at least one teacher that changes their life for the better.

Emma Bettle Work Experience Details
  • Schoolkit
    Resource Inventor I Director
    Schoolkit Jan 2011 - Present
    New Zealand
We make beautiful resources, provide support to teach them well and celebrate the powerful learning experiences that result. Our teacher member network shares a common goal of seeking innovative, unconventional and challenging teaching experiences for our students. We know teachers don't want worksheets, colouring in sheets, word-finds or 'Design a [insert word here]' competitions. We also don't believe any professional teacher worth their salt needs a 10 page step-by-step teaching guide. So, we work with our partner organisations to create compelling student-centred learning opportunities. The end result is free resources and kits for teachers… and clients who achieve their goal of making a difference.
  • Ministry Of Done
    Co-Founder
Ministry Of Done Nov 2010 - Present
    Waikato, New Zealand
Ministry of Done was born out of a frustration of bureaucracy. Because we got sick and tired of the bureaucratic process of allocating funds to serve children and communities without any real outcomes being achieved. So what does Ministry of Done do? We act as problem solvers for clients who want to connect effectively with school, community or family audiences. We strongly believe that with common sense, hard work and a passion for what you do, you can get more work done and more outcomes for both you and the families and communities you want to reach.A single MOD Ltd project reaches thousands of students (and their teachers) at any one time via a model that is cost effective for our clients. Projects are free to our teachers on the proviso they provide high quality professional feedback on the teaching and learning experience.
