The Somer Valley Rediscovered green spaces project aims to improve biodiversity, help reconnect people to their local green spaces, build our climate resilience and improve the health and wellbeing of the community, in the Somer Valley.Working alongside a dedicated group of colleagues and volunteers to deliver this project; I organise the recruitment of volunteers to engage in habitat management, surveying and monitoring, citizen science and to support events in the Somer Valley. Responsible for coordinating training opportunities to support fantastic volunteers and community members in developing skills to undertake these valuable activities. I help in supporting community events, engagement activities, and in sharing benefits of the green social prescribing courses available to our local communities. https://www.somervalleyrediscovered.co.uk

Supporting people to learn, and plants to grow, within our garden space. Working with the Student Support and Safeguarding service, I share my enthusiasm for nature and growing through garden related wellbeing sessions, workshops and craft activities.I also support the planning and facilitation of a course of social prescribing sessions - ‘Greenminds’. Through gardening, spending time together outdoors, during excursions and doing nature based crafts, we aim to increase students’ sense of belonging, reduce loneliness, support the development of new friendships and improve overall wellbeing.
