• Attend board meetings & assist the Board of Directors & COO with the day to day business operation of a start up medical diagnostic company specialising in a coagulation monitoring device (and the associated IP company).• Manage the HR function of the business with current staff numbers of 32 and multiple consultancy and subcontractor arrangements. • Oversee all shareholder and director communications with a share register of 58 private & VC investors. • Company secretarial duties on behalf of the Board include ensuring Companies House filings are made in a timely manner, that the Articles of Association and Subscription Agreements of the business are adhered to, board minutes & resolutions are drafted and appropriately filed and administration of the Company EMI Share Option Scheme.• Manage the sales & purchase ledger (Priority ERP software), issue of monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasts, corporation tax & R&D tax credit returns and the annual accounts for both companies.• Assist with fundraising – through new private investment or local and national Government grant funding, including the preparation of business plans, executives summaries, forecasts and thereafter EIS submissions for private investors.• Lead liaison with external agencies such as HMRC, auditors, accountants, Company business and intellectual property lawyers.http://www.microvisk.com/about-us/the-team

• Managed day to day running of 3 diverse businesses for busy entrepreneurial couple – Care home, private rental business & property development co.• Provided financial reports including preparation of all accounts to trial balance for all 3 companies using Sage Line 50. Oversaw all banking activity inc. payments, invoices, petty cash, credit control, cashflow forecasts etc. • Also acted as HR Officer to Care Home with a staff of 40 and all payroll duties for the smaller limited company, administered monthly pay runs, dealt with P45s and all year end documentation ensuring tax & legal compliance. • Formulated all due diligence materials including management accounts information for the sale of the Care Home and subsequent business plan for next multi-million pound project overseas. This included cashflow and profit & loss forecasting. • Watched currency & foreign exchange markets and arranged trades (regularly saving my employers thousands of pounds).• In essence I took all the hassle and administrative burden off them, releasing them to focus on the commercial and revenue generation aspects of their businesses, and, enabling them to start enjoying family holidays for the first time in 20 years.

• Company then known as Morgan Stanley Quilter, later CitiQuilter...• Managed the administrative operation for MSQ’s unit trust portfolio product. • Subsequently promoted to Trainee Investment Manager and appointed to work with the team managing the largest funds in the Birmingham office. Duties included investing and monitoring of clients’ funds on a daily basis

• Singing server with a repertoire of 100 songs• Asked to locate to Edinburgh for 3 month placement to train staff for new branch opening

• Elected to this 1 year post in a campus wide ballot (5000 students)• Represented the students to the University & outside bodies as well as having Executive responsibility for the running of the Guild. Established strict guidelines for budget working party to ensure forecasts were accurate and protocol maintained and enforced. Achieved c. £50,000 profit at year end on back of years of loss.
