I am a third-year Kelley student at Indiana University, majoring in Finance. I have a passion for helping others, collaboration, and strong relationships. I have demonstrated my passion for collaboration while forming relationships through participation in a variety of clubs and organizations. In student government, I was on the Human Resources board which was in charge of all fundraising. We organized school events and raised $113,376 during our annual two-week Christmas Drive. Additionally, volunteering with Young Hearts for Life executive board required lots of organizational meetings and work with the Senior Board to assist in planning EKG screenings at local schools. Another experience that brought immense amounts of collaboration was being a part of cross country for 4 years of high school. Cross country gave me a true feeling of a team atmosphere and a supportive community as we trained at high capacity six days a week. Finally, working as a lifeguard provided me with the experience of working with others under high pressures to ensure that the safety of all guests was the main focus. All of these experiences required me to collaborate with others that have the same mission as me. Through my participation within these groups, I have learned the importance of providing my own input, accepting other ideas, understanding each person's strengths and weaknesses, and seeing the different perspectives as we all work to achieve a common goal. Attending Indiana University at the Kelley School of Business will enable me to find success in my future. It is a privilege, through hard work, to attend Kelley, and I am fortunate to be learning from some of the brightest and most successful professors. I am learning how to navigate through the business world as a whole with focus on accounting, which will allow me to have a diverse view of business when I begin my career. The classes at Kelley require me to be diligent and attentive to detail while building my knowledge base, so I will be ready to contribute in a meaningful way to whatever team I will have the opportunity to join. Here at Indiana University, I am involved in IU Dance Marathon. This organization has been an opportunity in which I can work with many other students of all majors and see things from new perspectives. The experiences and opportunities that are at Indiana University are setting me up for success in a multitude of areas. I am eager to learn new things throughout my next two years at Kelley. I am excited for what's to come as I expand my perspective and knowledge of business.
