Responsibilities:- The audio recording and partial transcription in short hand timed down to second of official court proceedings through FTR recording and logging software,- Checking with the relevant parties and systematically logging certain information for use by the courts and transcriptionists, such as glossaries of terms and names used, stages of witness examination, recording times and court decisions,- Working within numerous locations within Sydney such as the Land and Environment Court of NSW, civil and criminal jurisdictions within the District Court of NSW, Supreme Court Registry and Fair Work Australia Tribunal,- Remaining informed and up to date on latest recording software used within the Recording and Services Branch (RSB), Department of Attorney General and Justice, and- Ad hoc administrative duties.

- Meeting quality and productivity standards in producing accurate and timely transcripts for numerous legal jurisdictions (Supreme Court & Court of Appeal, Civil; Land and Environment Court; District & Local courts, criminal and civil; FWA Tribunal) and NSW Police (ERISP; DVEC; JIRT interviews), - Co-ordinating allocation and prioritisation of work load between staff to meet ‘same day’ deadlines, and - Training and supporting new staff in procedures and protocols, providing sound checking and regular feedback on formatting and editing with specific legal requirements.
