Brought in to develop and implement the marketing and communications strategy for the business unit, including accountability for the delivery of employee engagement and performance targets. New role introduced to enhance and maximise value from customer propositions, including the development of brand strategy, customer segmentation, new product development and sales team engagement.

Selected for new role to develop and implement both customer and staff propositions to drive the Currys brand and future growth. Reporting to the Marketing Director, leading multi-disciplined project teams of internal and external resources including recruitment, internal communications, training, customer research, brand marketing and NPD.Implemented first store re-fit programme to hit payback hurdles. Programme included store design & planning, staff training and engagement, in-store materials & POS, local marketing and PR.Launched new Lighting category, from initial identification of product range to the management of category P&L and launch marketing activity.Designed, developed and delivered the first new format proposition for Currys, launching a superstore in Sheffield city centre. Reporting to the Trading Director, led a team of seven in the development and implementation of strategic marketing plans for Vision Category to maximise net profitability for the Currys and Dixons chains. Delivered over £600 million turnover to the group and managed a marketing budget of around £4million. Developed and implemented a commercial plan for Currys delivering sales 3.7% above and money margin 15.7% above, financial year budget.Instigated joint marketing communications, in-store point of sale and promotional plans with strategic partners and media specialists to optimise creative and World Cup opportunities, resulting in a promotion that increased market share by 2.1% year on year, delivering Currys highest ever market share within the Vision category.Identified significant opportunity within flat screen TV market, delivering a market share of 28% through the creation of a price breakthrough campaign.

Paris Area, France

Appointed to create and establish a new brand proposition within the European market, launching Dixons Group first European website including the management of corporate identity and values, recruitment of marketing and communications teams, identification and management of advertising and marketing agencies. Developed and implemented PC City retail brand in French and Spanish markets, including the introduction of corporate values, brand guidelines and best practice.Developed and implemented communications strategy effectively combining local cultural requirements with Dixons Stores Group philosophy and values.

Moved into newly created role to set-up department and centralise management of £8million marketing budget and internal communications.
