Worked with the Collaborative Crop Research Program of the McKnight Foundation to provide support to program level staff and grantees in Africa and the Andes in the following areas: intellectual property, research and writing, communications (newsletter and web-based tools), and literature service (maintain online reference database and membership). Coordinating the development of an online multi-media platform with a social network, resource sharing, and learning tools around agro-ecological intensification.

Feasibility study for an urban micro-agribusiness (piloting in New York City) that will create jobs, meet the growing market demand for locally-grown produce and increase supply. Researching fresh food procurement at institutions (e.g. universities / healthcare providers) to understand product demand and costs.

Biodynamic farm. Responsible for production, sales, farm-to-restaurant and family CSAs, volunteer and intern coordination, record keeping and analysis, and crop planning. Designed a farm management tool-kit and coordinated education and outreach activities.

Design and management of a research study to understand consumer eating and buying perspectives through interviews, active participation, and activities with members of the Canasta Comunitaria movement. Managed a project to connect urban food buying clubs (within the movement) with networks of small, indigenous farmers in the Northern and Central Andes to build alternative, reciprocal markets.

Fulbright Scholar in Ecuador. Research title: "The Canastas Comunitarias: A social movement for building an urban-rural platform for food security and healthy food systems."

Student initiative to educate students and make locally grown food available on campus. Worked with the university's contract-managed food service provider (Aramark) to establish a local food kiosk in the student union and have local products in all campus dining halls. Organized education campaigns, bi-annual "local food dinners" with guest speakers, and food/speaker-series.

Helped develop a farm-to-institution tool-kit; participative research and fieldwork, interviews, database updates, helped develop web-based tools, and organized workshops and events. Helped build a registry of local growers and buyers through phone interviews/surveys.

Organized workshop with key stakeholders and partner organizations to initiate community-based and supported school-feeding program. Performed background research, preparation of logistics and documents for workshops, workshop and field work reports. Conducted fieldwork in Coastal Districts researching and observing Farmer Field School (FFS) Programs and WFP School-Feeding Programs.
