About Emma Porter

The path to get here was winding, I almost dropped out of my UNSW Bachelor of Fine Arts course until I did an elective subject 'Multimedia Computing'. Boom! Life changed. I discovered that I could use computers to create art and get paid for it! I was offered a job working with my lecturer in his Multimedia Design business, Bold New Media, working on interactive documents and animations. After formalising my design skills at Billy Blue School of Graphic Arts and Swinburne University I was offered a three-month internship at Pentagram in New York City. I stayed at Pentagram for two years, working under living graphic design legends Michael Beirut and Paula Scher.I have created work for Adobe, Bloomberg, CocaCola, Target, The Highline and many amazing not for profits and community organisations. It is in the small to medium-sized business arena that I am most passionate about. It is here that our work can truly have a profound impact.I love hearing all about businesses. It's invigorating to do a deep dive and hear what makes our clients tick and learning all there is to learn about their undertaking. The best part of this process comes after we have put all of the pieces of the strategic puzzle together when we have come up with killer visuals that perfectly represent their values and speak directly to the people they want to talk to. We hold up this mirror and they see for the first time all of the amazing possibilities that come when the brand and the brand values are aligned.
