I come from a nursing background but have also run my own business away from the healthcare field. I returned to nursing at the start of the Covid pandemic which was both exhausting and rewarding and a great reminder of what can be achieved when everyone pulls together. I also realised that the NHS cannot continue to function as it is and there needs to be more communication & collaboration to make things work better. I moved to NHS Devon to work in Population Health Management (PHM), focusing on prevention of &/or improved management of ill health whilst improving general health & wellbeing. This can be achieved with collaboration between statutory services such as the NHS and the voluntary, community & social enterprise groups but is still a relatively new concept. I am now volunteering for a charity that holds those same core values that if we can all work together we can support individuals so much better and am looking forward to my role & the charity evolving over time.
