Having worked at Officeworks for a period of almost three years, I have become extremely well versed with various programs such as Adobe Photoshop & Fiery and processes such as collating large photocopying jobs. Over my time at Officeworks I have received three customer compliments which demonstrates my excellent customer service skills. One key skill I have developed during this role is conflict resolution. Particularly because I work late night shifts, customers frequently come in with print and copy jobs that cannot be completed on the spot but the customer needs immediately. This often leads to frustration on behalf of the customer, hence it becomes my responsibility to diffuse the situation. This requires a mix of conflict resolution and problem solving, as I have to find a solution for the customer within their specified time period. As an example, this includes compromising on the number of documents to be bound or offering a similar service that can be produced within a shorter time frame.

Over my three years working at Peter Rowland, I gained and developed a variety of skills. I was given this role without any experience in hospitality due to my ability to learn quickly and adapt. We were taught how to do the technical three plate carry during our interview, and by the end of the class, I was labelled 'a natural' by my supervisor.

During my time at JK Eyecare was responsible for a variety of administrative and retail duties, including stock management. This involved choosing which stock would best suit our client demographic, speaking to sales representatives about sales techniques, monitoring stock arrival times, and speaking with the optics laboratory about lens issues. This responsibility utilised my critical thinking skills as I was required to make assessments on whether a specific brand was appropriate for the business and if so, which facial structures, age groups or genders it would best suit.
