About Emma Cox
Hi there - thanks for visiting my LinkedIn! I am a graduate of the University of New Brunswick (Master of Environmental Management, 2022) and the University of Ottawa (Environmental Economics and Public Policy, 2020). My academic career has provided me with many opportunities to work on exciting projects and gain a strong understanding of the Canadian (particularly the Atlantic Canadian) context for environmental work. I have considerable work experience in aquatics, having worked positions as a lifeguard, swim instructor, advanced instructor, as well as various supervisor roles. I have also held roles within academia as a research assistant and as a teaching assistant. These positions allowed me to connect with peers, conduct and present research summaries, structure lessons, and author academic papers.My current position as a Project Manager with the Lifesaving Society of Ontario and the Drowning Prevention Research Centre allows me to combine my hands-on experience in aquatics with the research skills I have developed throughout my education to collect, analyze, and report data. Together we can work towards a Canada free of drownings and water related injury.As a small business owner, I am excited to bring first aid and aquatic training to more groups and individuals across New Brunswick.
