Assisting the Center for Interprofessional Education in implementing a new, 8-week curriculum, entitled Improving Care Access and Realizing Equity (ICARE) which will augment existing partnerships across the UTHealth System and the state by extending the classroom into the community setting. This practicum involves working with faculty mentors to design and deliver a public health curriculum (e.g., systems thinking, social determinants of health, barriers to healthcare for Mexican Americans living along the border, and access to care) appropriate for students from other disciplines. Activities include building the curriculum in Canvas, sourcing and citing all originating files, creating video content as needed, and developing learning objectives for each section.

Worked with the STD Epidemiology and Surveillance Group to assess the rise in syphilis cases among MSM living in Texas.
