Following my work as Project Manager at BJL for Swinton Insurance, Swinton asked me to join them on a fixed term basis to manage a multifaceted project. Swinton had committed to the FCA that they would update all of their sister brand websites and ensure they are compliant by the end of 2014. It was my responsibility to ensure the timely completion of 5 websites. During this process I managed relationships with third party agencies and numerous internal stakeholders including content entry managers and the Heads of Department in Marketing and Risk & Compliance. My experience, both with the company and in project management, meant that the process was smooth running and all 5 websites went live a week ahead of schedule.

Originally employed as Project Manager for BJL, my role evolved into both Account Manager and PM working on a hugely important project for Swinton Insurance. I managed tight timescales, rigid budgets and many stakeholders.This project made up part of a wider company initiative for Swinton and so there was a large amount of pressure on the team I was working directly with. It was therefore vital that I was always at the end of the phone or around the corner on hand, particularly during challenging stages of the project. I always ensured they had complete confidence that I would consider the best way forward both for the success of the project and the ongoing running of the business.I attended daily meetings onsite with the client to provide a constant flow of communication and facilitated conversations between them and our internal teams to ensure that they always received speedy responses and resolutions.Despite hitting some challenging project issues along the way, I built up a really strong relationship with key members of the team and they provided BJL with some great feedback on the role I played in that project and the importance of my reliability and empathy during the various issues we endured.

Managing projects from large bespoke applications and complex e-commerce websites, right down to smaller development additions to existing websites for Pixel8's SME client base. From the outset I was involved as a primary contact for the customer. I managed their requirements and expectations throughout the project with email correspondence, conference calls and project documentation. Further to this I managed staff internally to ensure timescales were met and the project was completed on time and within budget. Additionally, I played a role in the accounts and software side of the business, including the transition to a new accounts package and a workflow solution for the studio as a whole.

I was involved in a variety of projects for a diverse client base at Innov8 and my responsibilities included:• Initial Project meetings and solution scoping• Coordinating all resources to ensure projects were completed within defined timescales• Demonstrating the early stages of the solution to the customer• Regular contact with analysts and engineers out in the field to gain updates, progress reports, issues lists, potential risks on the project• Post ‘Go Live’ debrief meetings to ascertain customer views, issues lists, etc to allow us to complete the project successfully• Meeting with key internal staff to discuss both internal processes and project processes to assess how we might improve them for future projects.
