"Well-behaved women seldom make history." - Laurel Thatcher UlrichThe aforementioned quote has often been used by my family and friends to describe me. In my professional life, I prefer to describe myself as "passionate." I have found that my greatest passion is learning. As I have advanced in my career, I continue to ask thoughtful questions because I am enthralled by the way things work and why they work that way. From strategic marketing planning and campaigns to marketing data analysis, my professional experience and Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) allow me to continue to learn and expand my equally creative and analytical skills while providing my business partners and colleagues with holistic marketing and communications expertise. It was not until I began my career in Corporate Social Responsibility that I realized my other passions lie in social and environmental issues and corporate transparency. I have since decided to steer my career ambitions toward working for companies that prioritize ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives while also seeking opportunities to integrate these initiatives into my work.Unlike what Ms. Ulrich's statement suggests, I am not looking to "make history." I strive to use my passionate nature and experiences, both professional and personal, to benefit the companies and people I work for and with.
