I held public office for Lambeth, representing Coldharbour Ward. As well as undertaking casework and dealing with issues within the ward I took on additional responsibilities around the Environmental brief and chaired many Licensing hearings.- Policy Lead for Recycling overseeing behaviour change pilots to increase recycling and reduce waste. - Gave guidance to our Environment team as they rolled out the ReLondon food waste in flats trial alongside Veolia to almost 3,000 flats. During the trial 35 tonnes of food waste was diverted from the refuse stream. - Our One Bag A Week Challenge increased recycling rates by 25.39%. Our nudge letters led to a 20% decrease in refuse waste.- Suggested, devised, and created a recycling quiz to push on Lambeth’s social channels, embedding behaviour change messages throughout.

The NSPCC is the leading children's charity in the UK, specialising in child protection and dedicated to the fight for every childhood. I lead our national influencing campaigns, mobilising the public to take actions that will protect children across the UK:- Responsible for a large budget for the 2018 Talk PANTS campaign which encouraged parents to have a conversation with their children about how to keep safe from sexual abuse. This delivered 300,000 conversations nationwide following a TV ad, paid social campaign and peer-to-peer seeding strategy.- Generated our Look, Say, Sing, Play campaign from initial policy briefing through to a regionalised (now national) behaviour change campaign. Oversaw quantitative and qualitative research to understand the needs of parents and pitch the tone of the campaign correctly. On a shoe-string budget we gained 20,000 email journey sign ups in three regions and a corporate partnership with Lidl. Results show that there was a 24% increase in parents understanding the importance of quality interactions with their babies from birth.- Mobilised over 50,000 supporters for our Flaw in the Law campaign, resulting in legislative change. It's now always illegal for an adult to send a sexual message to a child, and police can intervene earlier to stop children being groomed online and prevent abuse escalating. - Led the Wild West Web campaign, which has mobilised over 45,000 supporters and shaped Government proposals to bring forward regulation for big tech. Soon tech companies will be bound by a legal duty of care to protect children on their apps from abuse or harm.

Cancer Research UK is the world’s largest independent cancer research charity. In this role I developed cross-team campaign strategies and mobilised the public to bring about Government investment and legislative change.Some key highlights in this role included:- Spearheaded our Test Cancer Sooner campaign. This gained the support of 24,000 supporters and led to the Government investing £1.5bn over 5 years to improve NHS equipment and address staff shortages. - Devised tactics for the multi-award winning Setting the Standard campaign which gained new laws for plain cigarette packs. This will help prevent young people from taking up smoking and ultimately save lives.

The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK changing the lives of people affected by stroke through delivering tailored services, funding research and campaigning for change. Sitting in a small Campaigns and Policy team I covered our policy areas on enhancing and protecting local services and stroke prevention. I was the author and project manager for our main campaign report in 2013, Feeling Overwhelmed, and worked across the organisation to recruit a UK-wide network of e-campaigners and support on-ground campaigning in a series of regional pilots.
