Living Well at Home is the Multi-Award winning brainchild of Emma Luddington, a RIBA Chartered Architect with 20 years’ experience in accessible and inclusive design. After speaking to friends and family dealing with housing and care considerations around ageing, she realised there weren’t easy ways to get personal recommendations aimed at helping people make their properties more accessible. She founded Living Well at Home as a dedicated property advice service for living well, at home, in later life. The assessment services and standards framework is unique in the UK – and the team of expert assessors now gives fast, practical and tailored advice so people don’t have to go on waiting lists, navigate complicated public services or do hours of research for generic solutions to age at home.

Making great buildings better - The Inclusive Design Consultancy offers professional, creative and practical inclusive design advice to designers and clients in the Arts and Housing sectors.Emma is an Inclusive Design Consultant and Architect specialising in the Housing and Arts sectors. She sits on Habinteg Housing Association's Board and is a Built Environment Expert for the Design Council.Her interest in the design of inclusive (accessible) environments started during her training as an Architect, was complemented by 8 years working as an Architect in the UK and abroad (designing housing, public buildings and open space in England, Brazil and Japan), and 18 years as a Access / Inclusive Design Consultant in the UK and Ireland. Her understanding and knowledge has been further informed by personal experience of disability. Emma regularly works as part of a project's Design Team, liaising with other team members and co-ordinating inclusive design elements and has worked on a range of award winning projects. She Emma also has extensive experience of consulting with stakeholder groups, such as service users, customers and disabled people. During Emma's 8 years as Director of Babel Ltd she developed a number of new business strands including the implementation of a successful training series, the access auditing arm of the business and the Corporate Strategic review and Due Diligence models for M&A work. Emma has a track record of developing client relationships and integrating into teams or organisations rather than imposing ‘Inclusion’ from the outside.
