I have been a Microbiologist/Quality manager in training at Endoval Ltd. for two years. As a dedicated microbiologist at Endoval Ltd, I play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of laboratory testing and environmental monitoring. My responsibilities encompass the processing and analysis of water, environmental monitoring, and endoscope lumen brush samples, covering a wide range of accredited tests including TVC, Mycobacterium testing, endotoxins, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, pH, and conductivity.Beyond testing, I ensure the laboratory operates seamlessly by managing stock levels, issuing purchase orders, and maintaining environmental monitoring and proficiency testing standards. I’m also responsible for internal audits aligned with ISO17025and ISO9001 and for delivering accurate, timely reports to clients to a high quality standard. I hold a Master of Science in Biological and Biomolecular Science from University College Dublin (2022, 2:1) and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Bioscience and Biopharmaceuticals from the Institute of Technology Carlow (2021, 2:1).Emma has volunteered for many organisations from tidy towns to animal rescue and most recently volunteered to be an ambassador for the student survey.My career journey has been enriched by diverse experiences, including a 12-week internship at Teagasc, Co. Carlow, where I gained hands-on experience in DNA extraction, PCR setup, sample collection, and tissue culturing.
