I am a Métis Doctor of Pharmacy student at the University of British Columbia, Vice President of Social Affairs for the Pharmacy Undergraduate Society, and Treasurer for the Indigenous Pharmacy Student Collegium. I am interested in how pharmacists can be utilized in improving Indigenous health outcomes and how traditional Indigenous ways of healing can be incorporated into existing healthcare infrastructure. As an Undergraduate Academic Assistant for Uproot I have participated in community-based participatory action research focused on the decolonization and Indigenization of pharmacy research, education and practice. Once my degree is completed I plan to settle on Vancouver Island to pursue a career in Indigenous public health and research. In my free time I enjoy bird watching on the beach, trying new bakeries and watching movies.
