I have a passion for education and teaching, particularly at tertiary level and within multi-disciplinary settings. My experiences, research and interests are based in the social sciences, primarily in social development and social sustainability in South Africa. I have additionally done field research work co-authored a qualitative report for a consultation project involving urban agriculture in the Philippi Horticultural Area for Casidra and the Department of Agriculture, Western Cape. This experience and exposure has inspired an interest to seek work that champions the integration between various sectors and skill sets such as research, innovation, education and policy development/implementation. I work well in groups, am very comfortable working with a variety of personalities, keep calm in high pressure situations and am eager to learn, as well as to contribute to meaningful development in South Africa.
