My role in the Dean's Office for College of the Environment and Life Sciences is to research scholarships and fellowships for students in clubs such as Seeds of Success (SOS), which is a student run organization focused on helping underrepresented CELS students attain a holistic education experience at URI while succeeding academically, professionally and socially. I run errands, make research important resources that are available on campus for students, and office work.

Trained to help staff prepare for Metcalf training programs and events such as the #InclusiveSciComm Symposium. I log participant, speaker and donor information in the Metcalf database, assist with mailings and carry out basic office tasks.

Shadowed veterinarians and veterinary technicians during appointments. Faxed papers, organizedmedicine, kept track of receipts, did filing, checked people out and filled prescriptions. Shadowed surgical procedures, made sure all weighing tables and rooms were well organized and clean beforeappointments, answered phones, assisted customers with pets in and out of the facility, helped dogreceive fluids and assisted customers with carrying supplies to their vehicles. I helped the veterinarianswith anything they needed.

My primary responsibilities consisted of supervising elementary children, meal preparation and carnival activities. I also participated in various activities such as swimming, canoeing and making sure campers were safe while interacting with horses. Monitored the camper’s naps during the day, made sure they adhered to all the rules, regulations and responsibilities required by the camp.

My responsibility was to help coach sixteen and up girls with Coach Rob Long. Attended local and out of state tournaments during the summer to build up the program. Assisted the coach with practice two to three times a week. Other responsibilities include participating in drills for demonstration, setting up for practice and being in charge of bringing all required materials to the games.
