I started work as a Research Scientist at the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC) in 2010 following the successful completion of my Master of Philosophy (MPhil) Degree in Nuclear Engineering from the School of Nuclear And Allied Sciences - University of Ghana. My MPhil thesis involved the development of a FORTRAN 90 code for calculating fuel burnup of HEU and LEU cores of Ghana's Miniature Neutron Source Reactor.I returned to GAEC following the successful completion of my PhD in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in Ontario, Canada. My current roles include leading three IAEA Coordinated Research Projects (CRPs) and lecturing at the School of Nuclear and Allied Sciences - Department of Nuclear Engineering. The IAEA CRPs are on 'Multi-unit Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA)' and the 'Development of uncertainty and sensitivity analyses methods for severe accident scenarios'. I have interest in the application of computational methods to solve Engineering problems especially in the nuclear industry.As part of my research, I have used a number of computational tools and codes including: MCNP, SCALE and CATHENA for neutronic and thermal-hydraulic simulations, CAFTA and AIMS-PSA for probabilistic Safety Assessment as well as MELCOR for severe accident simulation. I also have experience in the use of FORTRAN and MATLAB.My current research focusses on developing uncertainty and sensitivity analyses methods for safety assessment and verification applications in the nuclear industry.
