About Emmanuel Bourguignon

He is currently working at the Laboratoire d’Analyses Microbiologiques des Sols (LAMS). In 2008, after successfully defending his PhD thesis in New Zealand, Emmanuel came back to France to join the LAMS as a consultant in soil microbiology, ecology and agronomy mostly for vineyards. His aim is to help them set up sustainable agricultural practices which respect soils and promote vine health. In parallel to his consulting, Emmanuel completed in 2009 a degree of oenology technician at the Université de Bourgogne enabling him to provide his services for an up and coming vineyard in Turkey where he was the chief soil consultant and winemaker for 2 years. He also gives conferences and training for different types of audiences. In January 2013 he was one of the keynote speaker at the NZ Pinot Noir 2013 in Wellington. Recently, Emmanuel has been heavily involved in the revival of ancient French Terroirs in the Cahors region. Emmanuel lives in Dijon (France) and travels between most wine producing countries.
