With over forty years of rich and diverse experience in agriculture, rural credit and microenterprise finance, I am a Investment Director at Caspian, a social impact investment firm. I manage LeAF Fund, which invests in early and growth-stage companies in the food and agriculture sector, with a focus on social and environmental impact. I have a strong analytical and mentoring skillset, and a special interest in working with small and emerging businesses and projects with unstructured business models.I also serve as a member of the Credit Committee of Caspian Debt, an NBFC that provides customized debt solutions to impact businesses. I am also an Independent Director of NABKISAN Finance Ltd and Investment Director in Balwaan Krishi and Kisan Vikas (KiVi) and Director in Caspian Foundation and Chetna Agriculture Producer Company. Previously, I was head of operations of an impact focused NBFC, managing a portfolio of over INR 6 billion. I have published several papers, presentations, lectures, and reports, and am a frequent public speaker and commentator on social trends. I am passionate about building the food and agri startup ecosystem in India and an angel investor in multiple social enterprises. I am always open to experiment with new and innovative ideas. I hold credentials and certifications in rural management, development studies, banking and finance, and company law and practice.
