Lead the SEC Reporting function, including preparation, review and filing of quarterly and annual reports (Form 10-Q/K), current reports (Form 8-K), the Proxy Statement, and insider transaction reports (Forms 3/4). Additionally, I write the quarterly earnings release and work with the CFO, COO, SEC Council and external audit to address any comments they may have. This process includes review of all investor presentations. Responsibilities also include:Accounting Policy: ensure compliance with current FASB requirements, monitor and assess potential impacts of proposed accounting policy updates and changes to SEC disclosure requirements, and lead the implementation of new accounting standards updates and disclosure requirements. Additionally, lead the preparation and maintenance of accounting policy memos in support of internal documentation and compliance with external auditor.Benefit Plans: lead the preparation, review and filing of the annual 401K and ESOP benefit plans, including leading the relationship and day-to-day compliance with the external auditor.Equity compensation: lead the issuance and management of equity compensation, including (but not limited to) time- and performance-based RSU awards, and collaborating with the HR function and the transfer agent to ensure accurate and timely processing and reporting of all equity compensation transactions.FP&A: assist the CFO in the development of predictive models associated with derivative investments (FV and CF swaps, floors, caps).

As assistant controller and the director of finance, I successfully directed the financial reporting function for the REIT, including closing monthly NAV books and quarterly GAAP books, management of two off-site accounting teams, leading compliance efforts with all internal and external audits, completion of all SEC '33 and '34 Act filings, and ownership of the relationship with the REIT's transfer agent.In addition, I collaborated with the Treasury function to complete REIT fund operational responsibilities, including payment of monthly dividends, intercompany transactions, and timely payment to third-party vendors.In this role, I also routinely collaborated with the investor relations team, which included preparation and/or review of all external communications to investors, regulators, agencies and other stakeholders.
