The Manager of Accounting is responsible for supporting monthly reporting, quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting, financial statement analysis, payroll processing, and other accounting analytics projectsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Manages month-end and year-end closing process. Generates and inputs journal entries for all activities. Prepares necessary accruals for all expenditures, including committees, events, and other. Reconciles general ledger accounts.2. Produces financial statements, analyzes results, and ensures decision makers have the timely data they need to perform effectively.3. Prepares semi-monthly payroll for secondary reviewer; processes and validates payroll output.4. Coordinates regulatory requirements and filings.5. Answers and resolves inquiries regarding accounting processes and procedures, ledger activity, and financials.6. Maintains assigned balance sheet account reconciliations.7. Assists with preparation of annual budget and forecast, develops budget and forecast schedules.8. Responsible for preservation of fixed assets. Manages asset inventory and records all related transactions in accordance with GAAP. Maintains internal controls for asset transactions. Ensures accurate asset reporting for financial statement presentation.9. Provides accounting support for research projects.10. Leads with demonstrated integrity.
