Developed a community based energy efficiency index for residential and transport sectors in Dublin City, Ireland.Carried out interviews and used questionnaires to identify the behavioral influences on energy usage by urban dwellers.Using existing geo-coded details on accessibility of transport hubs in Dublin City, I was able to come up with a relationship between proximity of transport hubs to residences and places of work to how efficient use of energy could be realized in the transport sector; GIS analysis of urban sprawl of the city to identify home to school distances, home to city center distances, and home to work distances as well as modes of transport were investigated in reaching a submission on how to engage in efficient use of energy in the transport sector.In establishing a case for neighbourhood-based metrics, I made use of analysis of variance (ANOVA) test to analyse the mean electricity consumption of several building attributes in order to ascertain the degree of variation across several property types.
