Passionate about...Strategic planning and implementation of initiatives to enhance disease awareness, improve global medical education, and have a tangible impact on medical practice, with the ultimate aim of improving patient outcomes.Professional journey...Starting as a clinician in the UK, I moved to Germany in 1997 and founded English Lifelines (medical editing, proofreading and translations). I collected over 13 years' experience in a healthcare communication agency as a medical writer, progressing rapidly to Medical Director and Vice President, working with a broad range of products and indications for international pharmaceutical companies and medical societies.From there, I transitioned to a Medical Specialist role for interventional pulmonology and vascular therapies at a medical device company.In 2020, I took up my current position at Boehringer Ingelheim as Global Team Lead of Medical Communications in Cardio-Metabolism and Respiratory. Since joining, I have completed the Accelerate Programme by the Harvard Medical School, as well as extended leadership courses, including the Exposure Global Leadership Development Programme at IESE Business School in Barcelona.Goals...1. Raise awareness of diseases and treatments to provide visible, short- and long-term benefits in global healthcare and assist preventative initiatives.2. Energise medical communications and medical education to create innovative, effective, user-friendly resources that build knowledge, trust and loyalty.3. Facilitate access to clinically relevant information and skills required to increase competence and confidence in making informed treatment choices, optimising clinical practice and improving patient outcomes.
