"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act but a habit." - AristotleI've always been a hard worker. At the age of seven, I began going in to watch my brother's wrestling practices. Inspired by the way the sport operates and inner-sibling rivalry, I was pursuant to join as well. Making this transition was not easy. Women did "not belong" in this type of athletics. After several weeks of begging my parents to let me join and an uncomfortable conversation with the coach, my path had begun. What became a nine-year-long love for the sport taught me many lessons. Firstly, I could do anything anyone else could. No matter what society had expected me to be, I could do it too. Secondly, being involved in something bigger than myself, a group of talented individuals, would teach me more about myself than anything else. Lastly, the hardest workers are those who create excellence in themselves by decisions as opposed to circumstances.The level of discipline and determination I learned from such a young age has made me passionate to excel as a business professional. I want to challenge conventional pathways and vouch in a court of law. My supplementary experience in customer service, social media marketing, coaching, and sales responsibilities have also driven my confidence in my degree. Also, my love for learning many different sets of skills has kept me on my toes. Professionally, I am interested in getting my real estate license, CPA, and J.D. Although, outside of the business world, I involve myself in jiu-jitsu classes, biking, days on the lake, and coaching for my old wrestling team. Giving back and setting an example to other girls starting off in the sport is one of my biggest accomplishments. I strive to make a place where I was once unwelcomed inviting for all.
