About Eric Martindale, Mshm

Having spent nearly eight of the last nine years in healthcare, I developed a tremendous passion for serving the general public and bettering people’s lives. While I’ve always had a strong desire to help others in my personal life, my career has laid the groundwork for cultivating this passion and making it a colossal part of who I am today. For four years, I trained standardized patients for Chicago’s Step 2 Clinical Skills (CS) Collaboration, in conjunction with the United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), for the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates. I served on the Test Materials Development Committee in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, along with hundreds of medical doctors, educators, and professionals across the United States. I was personally responsible for the management and training of a staff of 12 to 18 direct reports dedicated to healthcare improvement and education. It was an incredible time in my life. I was remarkably passionate about it—the management of my patients, the commitment to medical education, and the responsibility I had to the healthcare industry was tremendous. I found self-worth that I never knew possible. And I was good at it. Then the COVID-19 pandemic hit, causing a cease in my team’s operations.At this point I moved back to Indiana (my original home state), sought a master’s knowledge in healthcare management at Indiana University Bloomington, and eventually became a University Recruitment Specialist with a company whose mission is to improve patients’ lives and inspire their well-being. A mission very much aligned with my own personal goals. Being a recruiter for clinical nursing, particularly amid a pandemic, has been one of the great honors of my life.
