I work with busy healthcare professionals by providing virtual bookkeeping services. This enables my clients to have more time; whether this is to allow more clinical time, time to focus on developing their business or even more time to spend with their family. I work with dentists, therapists and psychologists to name a few and the support I provide varies per client. This can be from assisting with the weekly invoicing of clients, allocating payments, healthcare insurance claims to a full bookkeeping service. But the one thing my clients have in common is more time. More time to focus on developing their business, more time to see their patients and most importantly more time to spend with their family. Because I have been supporting healthcare professionals for 15 years I know the pain points of running a busy clinic and trying to balance patient care with efficient financial admin! During my time in the dental education sector I taught and assessed students studying dental nursing apprenticeships. This role involved me planning a busy workload and organising myself as well as a caseload of students to achieve their targets. I took an active role in ensuring my students maintained on track and engaged throughout their course. As an assessor I visited many dental clinics which gave me deeper insights into the running of busy dental clinics, both NHS and private.

I joined this private dental practice as a dental nurse but was often found working on reception to focus on the admin side of the business - the area of work where my skills were at best use and the tasks that I enjoyed the most. I took an active role in achieving BDA Good Practice status for the practice and assisted immensely in getting the practice CQC compliant. This ensured that when I left the business I left with the satisfaction that the business had all of the key systems in place.

Working at this very busy NHS practice gave me a good insight into working within a fast paced role. I got to grips with working in a dental practice - both in surgery and on reception. I met many different patients on a daily basis and developed an understanding of their needs. I worked with various clinicians throughout each week and I took an active role in ensuring they were fully supported in their roles.
