Throughout my tenure at Seaboard Corp/Merriam Financial, I have held increasing positions of accountability, and have been heavily involved in building out our in-house banking and trade services functions. I joined as a Treasury Analyst in our Kansas City HQ, where I provided front-line treasury support/cash management for domestic/international concentrations. In less than a year, I was promoted to Treasury Manager, and tapped to set up FX hedging facilities at Merriam Financial Services. From Merriam's Bermuda office, I defined and embedded back-end procedures and business rules, and project-managed implementation of our foreign exchange trading platform. I progressed to VP of Treasury and continued to push towards automation and compliance, driving full integration of straight through processing (STP) and automated settlements/clearance for FX. My team provided end-to-end supply chain trade services including import and export letters of credit, guarantees and other facilities. I worked with the executive team on policy development for companywide guidelines and in-house banking services. When Merriam moved to Isle of Man (UK), I led the relocation and enhancement. Highlights included overhaul of executive reporting packages and RFP-through-execution ownership of a new treasury management platform. Along with a high-performing team, we continued to expand natural hedging opportunities, and worked with subsidiary/internal leadership to enhance visibility into portfolio performance. Upon return to the US, I was promoted from Treasury & Risk Manager, then to Treasury Director and now Assistant Treasurer where I am currently engaged in setting vision and execution for FX position management and an ambitious treasury transformation. I believe that an organization’s greatest asset is its people, and I work extensively with my team, positioning each one of them to maximize their professional growth. Let’s Connect.
