Supported the advancement of capitol project development for the West Seattle and Ballard Light Rail Extension projects during the planning and environmental assessment phase. Coordinated the efforts between the project engineers, land use planners, environmental planners, and the external engagement and community relations teams in my role. Managed the work stream between the Sound Transit geotechnical and permitting team and worked in coordination with the City of Seattle to achieve timelines and work within the constraints of our permits. Supported the external engagement and station planning teams to broaden our reach within the community and incorporate a variety of perspectives and ideas into the planning phase of this development project.

Assisted in the management of day to day operations on a diversified vegetable farm. This included everything from purchasing and planting seeds, setting up irrigation, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, and selling produce. Prioritized tasks and communicated weekly harvesting goals to staff. Curated a farm brand and created a social media presence to engage and recruit customers. Led efforts to recruit new customers through outreach and built relationships with customers face to face at farmers markets and our CSA pick up.

Prepared lessons for middle school aged children on local food culture, agricultural practices, and at a glance the biggest challenges and complexities within the United States food system. The lessons took on a hands on approach by teaching students how to prepare a variety of meals. Conducted resource planning, tracked spending to ensure abidance of budgetary guidelines, and cut previous program spending by 25%. In order to ensure the long term success of the program I spent time reflecting with staff members and students and evaluated program goals. At the heart of everything was advocacy for student learning and empowerment.

Partnered with local Vermont farmers as they practiced sustainable and rejuvenating agricultural practices in order to enrich the land as well as their lives. By working alongside and interviewing these farm owners I learned about the social, economic, and cultural limitations to adopting these practices as well as the ecological benefits they provided. Additionally, collecting and processing soil samples, assessing the farm's native plant index, and reporting on the qualitative information from farmer interviews were all apart of this experience.
