I had the immense privilege of occupying the writer's room above my favourite bookstore, Shakespeare & Co, literally living my dream to work on a literary thriller set in Paris.

The events of recent years, in particular the Black Lives Matter protests, have made many of us reflect on the inequity, inequality and lack of diversity that persists in our society and the injustices of this. As I asked myself what more I could do, I got involved with the formation of the Ethnic Diversity Network, an AECOM employee resource group, which champions an equitable and inclusive workplace. As a committee member, I helped set up the community sub-committee and founded/ run a Diverse Book Club

I edited the first Evaluation Report on European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) and European Stability Mechanism (ESM) financial assistance programmes, published in June 2017, together with launch materials. Since then I have been working on a publication due later this year.

In May 2010 three UK broadcasters, ITV, Channel 4 and the BBC formed the Digital Production Partnership. The aims were simple: to smooth and accelerate the move to end-to-end digital; with more benefit, less pain and less cost – for everyone.The DPP immediately attracted support from the whole broadcast sector. It has produced numerous industry insight reports and events, and produced best practice guidance. It has also defined and implemented some common standards – most notable a common standard for file-based programme delivery, which was implemented across the whole of UK broadcasting on 1 October 2014, and finally made end-to-end digital a reality.UK file-delivery, enabled by the DPP, caught the attention of the broadcast industry globally. There was growing demand for the DPP to do more. So from 1 April 2015 the DPP became a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee: Digital Production Partnership Ltd.

Network Manager for Venturefest, an evolving national network designed to draw local innovation eco-systems together through a number of local events around the country.
