As CEO of the Vine Schools Trust, it’s my job to be ambitious for our schools, our children, and our staff. I always ask myself, “Are we making a difference to the lives of the children we serve?”, which is one of the most important and satisfying parts of my role. I listen first, then lead. Having spent much of my early career teaching children from some of the most vulnerable families in the East London boroughs, I understand the importance of putting the needs of the children at the centre of every decision I make for the Trust. As a nominee for the ‘Leadership of the Year’ and ‘Multi-Academy Trust of the Year’ awards in recent National Schools Awards, and the winner of Optimus CEO of the Year 2024, I am always seeking new opportunities to put my passion into practice and improve the provision for those children who come through our doors every day. Over the course of two years, I have reduced the number of ‘At Risk’ schools in the Trust from twelve to zero, an achievement that I partially attribute to my 22 years of experience as a primary school leader. An active, positive and supportive leader, I am ambitious for our schools and always focus on achieving the best for those around me.
