The Race Around Ireland is an Ultra-Marathon Cycling World Cup event. It is the 2nd highest ranked race in the world and is regarded as one of the world’s toughest challenges. I have been involved with this event since its inception and have played a major role in planning, designing, implementing, risk assessment and problem solving. As the event co-ordinator I am responsible for a wide variety of aspects of the race, including:• Social media management. This role includes overseeing all social media content, development of social media campaigns and analysis of online presence.- 2013: Winner ‘Digital Presence’, at Meath Business and Tourism Awards- 2012: Winner ‘Dynamic Marketing Material’ at Meath Business and Tourism Awards• Website development and online analytics.• Route planning and development of navigation support tools such as a highly detailed routebook, digital maps, hard copy maps and GPS information.• Liaison to racers, support crews, partners, media, local and national authorities.• Recruitment, training and support of race officials.
