Two contact periods working for a leading insurer in Dublin as they adapted their systems to on-board a division who were introducing overseas-student health insurance to their portfolio of products.Remote working through Citrix after an initial month in the office before COVID pandemic. Part of a large team working within an Agile methodology and utilising the market leading tools including Oracle PL/SQL Developer, Oracle Reports and Forms (for full stack development), JIRA (for Agile sprint control and monitoring), Crucible (for code reviewing), WEBEX (for Agile stand-ups, refinement sessions and meetings) and Tortoise SVN (for source control across the various teams).Involvement and exposure to the full range of functionality associated with a large insurance business including policy creation (and movement), premium earning, commission control, refund handling, claims handling, ledger handling and payment interaction with leading banking systems. Also two contract periods with Ireland's leading independent hospital group working on a SQL Server database migration project which involved consolidating and updating the database infrastructure underpinning their key systems country-wide.

Design and development of a web-based system allowing nursing homes throughout Ireland to manage the medication of their residentsDesign and development of a bedside handheld application incorporating bar code scanning allowing nurses to verify the correct resident, verify the correct pouch of medications for the appropriate date and time of day against the main medication management system and record if the medication is given or refusedImplementation of secure web-services to integrate the medication management system with internal medication packaging and dispensing systems as well as many of the industry leading nursing home care systems Setup, administration and tuning of the SQL Server Database at the core of the medication management systems including migration to newer DB versions and alternative hosting providersDesign and development of a Management Information module to distribute key summary data about activity to relevant staff in Median Healthcare Services on a nightly, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis as appropriate via email.

Researched and analysed existing manual business processes within the Valuations Office (state body). Documented the processes fully with recommendations as to how best they could be integrated into the core systems redevelopment project.
