During this year I have been an active member on LUTES event team. I have had a chance to learn from the experts how to throw an event and how much work throwing an event really requires. As a team member I have had the change to help LUTES event managers at organizing events and helping on those. I also had an unique change to develop whole new event XX Factory as an co-creator. The goal of our event was to inspire and motivate entrepreneurs and like-minded people with keynote-speakers and workshops. Concrete skills that I have learnt from this year is self-development and event organizing from beginning to the end, and I have also gained more confident while talking in English to other people.

During this summer I was as a waitress on Wanha Satama which is a summer restaurant in Kuopio. As a waitress I took orders from customers, prepared drinks, served food and kept the places clean. I got my first experience at working in a bar and at how to make different drinks. I also got so much new knowledge for example what wines or drinks should be recommended with each food. Beautiful summer days and big events increased our customer count which led to busy days and nights which developed my skills to work under pressure.

My job description on this summer job was pretty same than I have had in my previous jobs. For example in my duty was to do the dishes, to be a customer servant and keep the good overview by cleaning and I also served food to the tables. The work experience and the work environment taught me more how to get along with different kind of people and clients.

In this season I also worked as a customer servant. My basic workday contained customer service behind the cash register, bringing food to the table and keeping the overview clean. Because I have already done these same tasks last year, it was good season to focus on developing my skills forward and to the next level. My customer service skills got even better and I got even more experiences with different clients.

Kasurila has a ski slope café where I worked as a customer servant. My basic workday contained customer service behind the cash register, bringing food to the table and keeping the overview clean. Few times I also helped the ski instructors with their downhill skiing lessons. Working in the ski center is very hectic so during this time I had a good change to learn how to work under the pressure.

Working in the gas station is very versatile experience. During this summer I had a change for example to work behind the cash register, to do the dishes and to made sure that the gas station stayed clean during the opening hours. In this time I learned how to encounter with different clients and how to handle different kind of situations. I also got to develop my customer service skills.

During this time I worked at different nursing homes in Siilinjärvi with a little group or we went with pairs. My basic day contained chatting with the seniors, going out with them and helping them with the basic daily routine. This job gave me good perspective what is like to work with people at different age.
