Rushing to the hospital as I held a towel to the wound on my brothers head, I attempted to calm him down. I have 5 younger brothers and they have all gotten stitches multiple times. Our family knows what to do now so the emergencies aren't as scary. I discovered I was interested in the medical field because of these experiences. My mom is a registered nurse and she worked in labor and delivery. Throughout high school I completed the Heath Science pathway. All the classes taken to achieve this have helped me towards my career goals.Nursing is an exciting and extremely needed career field. I considered for a long time but decided it wasn't what I wanted to do so I started exploring other options. I decided to do an internship at an orthodontist office to see if I would like the dental industry! I have loved it and learned so many skills. The anatomy classes I have taken helped me to understand what the employees are saying regarding the patients. I am now planning on getting an associates of science and then moving on to go through a dental hygiene program! I am so excited to go to college and pursue my career. One of my favorite things to do is get to know people! Becoming friends with the staff and patients at the office was one of my favorite parts of my internship. The classes I have taken have shown me how to learn and prepped me for future learning. I continue to learn extremely valuable communication skills at my job! I love being and Event Manager, I am so grateful for the skills I have learned! I go to the dentist regularly, and went to the orthodontist for 5 years during my treatment! I love the environment in dental offices and hope that I can be employed at one some day!
