The Edmonton Public Schools Foundation is helping children get ready for learning and for life through public education. As the Director of this Foundation, I lead the team in raising needed funds to support our mandate of leveling the educational playing field for children who come to the classroom at a disadvantage. Our current priority is supporting and sustaining full-day Kindergarten for kids who need the extra time and support.As Director, my work involves overseeing all aspects of the Foundation from strategic planning, program implementation, fundraising, communications, Board relations, financial reporting and of course, stewarding our wonderful donors.

Leading a dynamic team of 4, we are raising funds to support the priorities of the Edmonton Public Library. Our current priority is to raise $10million in support of the revitalization of the main EPL branch, the Stanley A. Milner Library. I developed and launched the campaign in 2016, and after being away for a year, I am delighted to have returned to Edmonton and EPL to complete what I had started.

A brand new position, I managed a team of three that was responsible for all aspects of advancement and alumni relations for Camosun College. While sustaining the annual campaign to fund awards and bursaries for students, I was tasked with wrapping up the successful $7.5 million TRADEmark of Excellence Campaign and planning for the next campaign, to raise $5 million to support a new Health Centre. I facilitated the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of the College's first $1 million gift.

Leading the growing Fund Development team for this dynamic and important community organization, we are working together to raise funds to support important programs and projects including epl2go Literacy Vans, Welcome Baby! Early Literacy Programs and the revitalization of the Milner library. My responsibilities include developing and implementing the FD plan, leading our capital campaign and stewardship program and managing the FD team. EPL was named Library of the Year for 2014, a first for a Canadian library.

With a mission to "recognize, celebrate and inspire environmental excellence in Alberta", I was responsible for managing all aspects of this nonprofit organization, including stewarding partnerships, leading fund development, strategic planning, communications, program development & implementation as well as organizational management. Major annual programs include the Emerald Awards as well as the Youth Environmental Engagement Program, which I launched in 2009, the enhanced communications strategy which I developed and launched in 2010 as well as the 'Emerald Day' community outreach program which I launched in early 2012.As the only full-time, permanent employee of the AEF, I worked closely with the board of directors and was responsible for leading and supporting a talented team of volunteers along with a part-time staff member and various consultants.

Responsible for raising funds and managing all communications for this self-sustaining institute within the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Alberta.

As a member of the growing Fund Development team, my primary responsibility related to events - both signature as well as managing over 200 third party events a year, which netted over $1 million a year.

As the first Executive Director of the VZDS, I was responsible for building a fund development program, developing the donor base, managing events and activities, supporting the board and managing volunteers, creating all communications and establishing the office.

Supporting the Executive Director and leading initiatives of my own in this small office, my duties included project research and planning, grant writing, donor management, volunteer management, event coordination and "any special projects that needed attention" and in an effort to support the FEHF mission to celebrate Edmonton’s vivid, diverse history by fundraising in support of the development of capital projects in Fort Edmonton Park.

Responsible for all aspects of operating the C&E Railway Station Museum during the spring and summer months, including coordinating tours, managing donations and office administration. This temporary summer position was my entry into the nonprofit sector!
