As a Python developer, I was part of a 15-person team responsible for a distributed backend system with over 500 instances. During my time on the project, I accomplished the following:1. Designed and implemented a system to collect application metrics and send them to various backends (Prometheus, StatsD).2. Configured Grafana dashboards to monitor system status based on the collected metrics.3. Updated two large APIs on NodeJS (HAPI) to the latest framework version and merged them into a single codebase for easier maintenance.4. Participated in migrating a large codebase to Python 3.5. Identified and fixed several bugs caused by the random message processing order.6. Integrated over 10 third-party services into our system using various data transfer protocols (HTTP REST, JSON-RPC, WebSocket, grpc) and often had to read and modify source code in other programming languages (C#, Go, C++, and others).7. Developed and reviewed over a hundred features of various sizes and complexity.8. Increased the unit test coverage of our application's core functionality using pytest.As I gained experience, I was entrusted with creating additional microservices in our ecosystem. In addition to writing code and tests, I also communicated with clients, wrote technical specifications, designed application architecture, selected technologies, wrote documentation, and decomposed and distributed tasks related to the development of these services.Examples of services I created include a service for validating cryptocurrency addresses, a high-load proxy on Go with the ability to rate limit and flexibly whitelist requests to multiple backends (later adding support for auto-discovery for backends based on Consul), a service for interacting with providers that perform compliance checks, and a Telegram bot for ad-hoc monitoring and alerting.I also participated in developing coding guides and introducing additional tools, including mypy and black.
