SDB Groep delivers BI/Analytics as a service, catering to a wide range of clients.Mr. Oost has helped expand the Business Intelligence Healthcare branch of the then recently founded Reports Health subsidiary, focusing on designing new solutions for Healthcare, and expanding existing ones.

Capgemini Academy is a leading education center in the areas of ICT, management and personal effectiveness.To strengthen their team in the area of Business Intelligence and Datawarehousing, the Academy asked Mr. Oost to join the Academy as an instructor for various courses related to Business Intelligence.Since Mr. Oost joined the Academy, he has taught BI/Datawarehousing courses on a regular basis.Students have been positive about his courses, and complimented him on his clear way of explaining the concepts.

The Academic Medical Center of Utrecht has research facilities on many medical topics. For all research, it is essential that its high volume of data has consistently high quality, that the information is easily but securely available and that proper data handling and solid analytics can be performed. For this, a new SAS datawarehouse and analytical environment is being created.Mr. Oost has been asked to help design and develop this new environment, in close cooperation with all stakeholders.

Ahold's enterprise datawarehouse, Pallas, serves as the central information hub of the company. Incrementally all companies owned by Ahold are connected to it.To speed up this process, Mr. Oost has been requested to serve as an information analyst, attuning Ahold business demands to available company information, designing high-level blueprints and overseeing their implementation.He has quickly taken on several integration projects, both completely new and ones in various stages of progress.Several of his projects have now either gone into production or are nearly finished. The client and project lead have on multiple occasions expressed their satisfaction with Mr. Oost.

At the core of its public transport planning, the GVB is using a Quintiq Advanced Planning and Scheduling system, coupled with a custom Microsoft HRM/BI system. Both are actively expanded due to additional customer wishes. Mr. Oost was asked to take over the lead in further designing and developing the HRM/BI system, as well as play a key role in the expansion of the APS system.He has efficiently taken up both roles, and leads a small team during development phases.The extensions were designed and developed within time and budget. The client has expressed his satisfaction with Mr. Oost's work.

The Business Intelligence unit of the Dutch Tax Office is developing an organizationwide data warehouse for the central distribution of its data sources, reports and analyses. The Toeslagen system, which is still in development, is the largest data source currently being incorporated.As the complexity of this data source and its rate of change were too large for manual design, Mr. Oost was requested to investigate methods to improve the efficiency of the process. In this capacity he redesigned the process by strongly automating manual labor, yielding huge improvements in both speed and quality.The customer has explicitly stated its strong satisfaction with the work of Mr. Oost. The method he instigated has since also been adapted by other teams within the Belastingdienst Business Intelligence unit.Besides these activities, Mr. Oost also has the role of functional designer in the BI Infrastructure team. Amongst other activities he designs migration paths from old to new BI infrastructure.

Within the Dutch Tax Office, there is a strong desire to simplify its sometimes unnecessarily complex workflows.Mr. Oost has been requested to investigate the suitability of several new IT technologies for this goal. Amongst these technologies, change data capture was particularly of interest to the organization, mainly IBM Q Replication for DB2. Also, Mr. Oost has strived for consistent use of tooling between teams.In a short period of time, Mr. Oost was able to master several new technologies, such as the new IBM Rational Software Architect. He has spread his knowledge through coaching and writing training material. He also investigated the different business definitions used throughout the organization, sought consensus on these. He also was one of the core members of the Service metadata group, in which he co-authored a new metadata model for the B/CA service administration, and the driving force within Gegevenshuishouding for shared interdepartemental data distribution.The customer was very satisfied with the work of Mr. Oost and has explicitly stated as such on multiple occasions. The business terminology dictionary he created has become one of the main sources for the thesaurus of the whole Complexiteitsreductie project of the Dutch Tax Office. Partly based on his recommendations a tool for the B/CA service metadata is now being developed, and the organization is taking further steps to incorporate change data capture in its workflow.
