I’m a seasoned visionary non-profit executive with 15-years of experience leading organizations that focus on youth development, academic success, and mentoring for underserved, marginalized, and disenfranchised student populations. This has been my work since I crossed the finish line of college graduation. My barriers to high school and college graduation were so substantial that I felt a strong pull toward committing my career to building programs that would give young people a sense of hope for the future along with skills to navigate their own paths to life and career success.My work in the non-profit sector has afforded me opportunities to build asset building programs for Community Action Agencies, pilot a social enterprise driving college savings accounts funded by Citibank Global Impact & Innovation Grants, lead a Communities In Schools affiliate, and advance credit recovery initiatives through Open School, Inc. I characterize myself as a social entrepreneur because much of my work has required me to lead with vision, creative “out of box” thinking, risk taking, and collaborative strategies based on private sector concepts to drive game changing initiatives in the communities I’ve served. I’m also a strong leader who is experienced in organizational change that has brought positive outcomes (quantitative and qualitative) to turnaround efforts for Communities In Schools of the Big Country and Open School, Inc. I'm currently leading as CEO for Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland Metro Area where our mission is to empower all young people to discover their full potential; especially those who need us most. Our work is anchored in 3 core competencies - STEAM, Sport & Play, and Life & Workforce Readiness. We impact over 3,000 youth & families annually through 7 clubhouses operating across Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas counties.

CIS Big Country is specifically responsible for serving 3 school districts, 10 schools, and 1,000 students in Abilene, Wylie, and Snyder Independent School Districts. -

The site was selected to receive funding through a Citibank Global Impact and Innovation grant ($320,000 over 3 years). The site generated $100,000 annually in ad partnerships with local businesses, attracted 2,500 site users, and funded scholarships for 25 students each year. The site operated independently from September 2011 to August 2014 then merged into operation under Communities In Schools of the Big Country from August 2014 to August 2017. PrincipalGrow Assets, Llc Oct 2008 - Aug 2014Launched asset-building initiatives for Community Action Agencies and other non-profits working to break cycles of poverty through Individual Development Accounts and community tax centers. Clients included United Way of Abilene, Concho Valley Community Action Agency, Central Texas Opportunities, and Midland College. Specific services provided included strategic planning, project implementation, resource development, and ongoing training and technical support. Projects reached 5,000 families annually across 4 small cities in the Greater West Texas area.
