I have 25 years of experience in project management, health information systems strengthening, disease surveillance systems and global health security project start up and implementation, and monitoring, evaluating, and learning (MEL) for U.S. and international projects. I currently serve as RTI headquarters technical advisor for disease surveillance information systems strengthening activities for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)-funded Global Health Security (GHS) project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and served in the same role from 2015-2020 for the CDC-funded GHS project in Guinea. In Guinea I worked with a team of local epidemiologists and technology experts, CDC, and the Ministry of Health to implement a national electronic disease surveillance system based on the DHIS2 platform that continues to be used to respond to disease outbreaks. In the DRC I worked with a subcontractor, CDC, the Ministry of Health and our team to develop an infectious disease surveillance system in DHIS2 used in a province of over 7 million people to identify and respond to outbreaks. I am experienced in project start up and management, development and implementation of MEL plans, developing and nurturing good relationships with clients, team members, and stakeholders, mentoring and team building, and proposal leadership, management, writing, and budget development.
