As the Administration Manager at Ekode Group, I quickly earned a promotion. I found myself in a central business role, working directly with the senior executive team and representatives from sister groups. My core focus was on managing the operation of a learning management system supporting over 2,000 active learners, with satellite learning centres across the UK relying on this provision to run smoothly.I was responsible for everything from office and team management to the development and nationwide distribution of qualification portfolios. I facilitated IQA visits, ensuring our programs maintained high standards, and regularly reported business performance directly to the Managing Director and the wider Directorate team.One of my biggest challenges was overseeing learner management, where I coordinated the progress, completion, and certification for over 2,500 learners. This involved juggling three different systems to ensure all information was accurate and up to date, while also liaising with over 100 assessors and business partners to keep everyone aligned on learner status and updates.In addition to managing multiple email accounts and administrative processes, I played a key role in streamlining workflows, supporting both our internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver the highest quality of learning outcomes.

At Netpack Fulfilment Ltd, my role was a bit of a whirlwind—I handled everything from data entry and e-commerce fulfilment to IT and post-room management. With a team of 10, we managed over 1,000 orders a day, so things had to run like clockwork (and yes, we had some fun, too).One of my proudest moments was building our order management system from scratch. It wasn’t just about sorting and coding payments—it made life easier for the whole team and meant we could process orders more quickly and with fewer hiccups. We were even handling mail merges and mail-shots for a client base of 9,000, including for Cats Protection, Dogs Trust and the RSPCA, so efficiency was key.On the tech side, I designed custom databases that helped us track priorities and set up all the codes for clients, products, and pricing. It was basically about making sure everything ticked along smoothly behind the scenes. I also had the chance to work directly with the MD, giving them insights into how we were performing, what was working, and where we could improve. All in all, it was about keeping the gears turning and solving problems along the way.

As a Trainee Architectural Technician, I had the opportunity to work on projects from the very start, helping clients take their ideas from rough sketches to actual buildings. My role involved everything from creating plans that met building regulations to drafting the detailed specs needed for construction. And honestly, one of the best parts was seeing my designs being built right here in my local area—it’s a pretty special feeling.I handled site surveys, making sure everything was in line with the drawings, and worked closely with clients to create briefs and technical specifications. It was a hands-on role where I got to dive into both the creative and technical sides of architecture, learning the ropes while contributing to projects that became real, tangible structures.
