About Emukule Haron

In 2018, I designed a water treatment unit for Bardhere town, Funded by World bank. The treatment unit comprised an intake well, flocculation unit, sedimentation unit, chlorination chamber, Elevated reinforced Concrete tank and distribution system. It was complete and in use serving 2030hh with portable Water.During the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone in 2015, I was part of the team that designed and implemented WASH infrastructure . Through the intervention the Bo Government hospital which did not have water supply and sanitation system for over 20years now has sustainable water supply system. In May 2015, while with The IRC, I was part of the cholera response team deployed in Kigoma, Tanzania that helped curb spread of infections among Burundian refugees. The assessment was able to identify WASH needs in the most affected areas in the lakes state and Unity state. In 2013, while with Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) WASH program in Dadaab, I was part of the team that worked on a Hybrid (wind and solar) energy project. The renewable energy hybrid system uses a combination of solar and wind to pump water from the borehole.In 2011 while with IRC, at Kakuma refugee camp, I designed a cost effective, Environmental friendly and durable latrine which led to savings that were re-ploughed back to the program increasing latrine coverage in the camp. The research conducted in Kenya, Ethiopia and Thailand was published by London school of Tropical Medicine & International Health journal.
