I'm a software engineer with a strong focus on backend development who's working with mostly PHP for more than 17 years now.Besides that I had the chance to design, lead and implement really high demand and complex systems where scalability, speed, resource handling, stability and maintainability was really a top requirement.Serving out hundreds of millions of requests per day, in a system what consists of dozens of different parts and millions of lines of code maintained by a hundred developer is really not an easy task on any level. By succeeding in a lot of things and failing in many others I gathered really valuable experiences:- Designing a software architecture to make it easy to understand, and use by other developers and still keeping it maintainable.- Writing testable code- Writing good tests what can be used as a documentation.- Acting as a team mate in every process (planning, coding, review)A few areas I worked and I consider myself experienced in:- Designing scalable systems for high load.- Defining and improving the development processes which includes implementation and Quality Assurance as well- Mentoring/Teaching- Technical lead of a project and/or teams- Development.
