Ben Zimmer is Founder and CEO of Enable Education. Enable's goal is to produce innovative, media-rich teaching and learning tools to support learners from preschool right through to industry. He is principal on Thinkscape, Enable's unique and innovative learning platform. As an educator, Ben has taught applied technology at the college level, including LabVIEW, Electronics, and Signal Processing, and is a thought leader in educational technology for STEM learners. Ben also has 15 years of experience as a LabVIEW programmer, working in and providing consulting services to a variety of industries. Ben has spent the past several years focusing on the Automation industry, working on advanced systems and assembly lines, ranging from small to systems to $10M lines. This work included electrical test systems, motion, vision, data analysis, supervisory systems, and a variety of other applications. Prior to that, Ben managed the Reliability Engineering department at a manufacturing company, where he gained experience developing short term as well as life testing systems primarily using National Instruments Hardware, and LabVIEW.Ben holds a Combined Honours Degree in Mathematics and Physics and a Master’s Degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.
